Pinkerton, Robert McLean

Biographical Note:
Pinkerton received his B.S. degree from Bradley University in 1928 and studied Physics at the University of Virginia from 1931-1932. He was appointed Professor In-Charge of Aeronautical Option (Department of Mechanical Engineering) from 1952-1970, later Professor of Aeronautical Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He was Acting Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1957 to 1958. He received an Outstanding Faculty Advisor citation from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1964. Pinkerton was awarded Outstanding Teacher of 1969-1970 at NCSU. He retired in 1970.
