This folder contains office records related to agreements made between the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service of Raleigh and the Stauffer Chemical Company of Mountain View, California. They include a memorandum of agreement which outlines the institutions' objectives create "an educational and demonstrational program to improve the production of flue-cured tobacco in North Carolina." The Stauffer Chemical Company would provide finances and the Agricultural Extension Service would provide the reports on the results of their research. Another memorandum outlines the agreement for Stauffer to provide finances and herbicides and the Extension Service will experiment and furnish a report on their findings. The folder also contains memorandums and correspondence related to the agreements and experiments.
