This record contains correspondence between Professor William H. Johnson and Bambang Hartono, director of the Djarum Cigarette Factory, manufacturers of clove cigarettes, in Indonesia. They discuss Dr. Johnson’s work in freeze-drying tobacco and the exchange of tobacco and clove samples for research purposes, including customs processing. The record also contains research notes, technical reports, and a letter of introduction to Robert R. Cooke, director of engineering at Tenco.
