This folder contains a speech titled “After Five Years, What?” The speech discusses accomplishments made in the five years of rural development pilot programs and how to make further progress from what was learned during this time. The speech regards the programs a success is furthering rural development and assisting farmers, countering problems for agriculture brought about by the United States’ growing urbanization. The speech also stresses the importance of agricultural awareness through leadership and education, as well as farmers taking initiative.
