Architectural note:
The bridge originally had an open span, but the roof and walls were added around 1900.
Historical note:
The bridge is one of only two covered bridges left in the state, and possibly the last wooden bridge in the United States with Haupt truss construction. The bridge is a National Civil Engineering Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
