Building: Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church (Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina)

Architectural note:
William Nichols functioned as the architect on the original project. The church added more elaborate Gothic Revival details over time, including the entrance tower in 1830, the gallery in 1835, the exposed beam ceiling in 1868, and the spire in 1875. The tower was rebuilt in 1850.
Historical note:
The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
